Whether she is on the court playing sports or in the classroom, she works diligently to achieve her goals and ensures that her success is of the utmost importance. Ashely takes on challenges with an "I can do this" attitude" and takes the time to ask questions and engage in conversation with her teachers and peers. Hello Dolphin Parents!
It’s Ms. Denise and I want to let you know that I’m back! Back for FUN and ADVENTURES from the WRAP program to help make Virtual Programming for our JROB students something for them to look forward to!
I’ve compiled a list of activities that I’m sure will have them asking for more! For example, courtesy of the California Science Museum, I will be playing the role of “The Gross Scientist! The kids will be learning things like Sticky Snot, Let It Rip (Why do farts make sounds?), Spill Your Guts (Why vomiting is important!), and Germ Busters. For these and other hands-on activities, WE will provide the kids with the supplies needed for the activity.
We will recognize some Fun Facts of the day (Chinese New Year, Random Act of Kindness Day, Make a Friend Day, and more!) For Friday’s Fun Day, we’ll do some singing and dancing to end the week on a good note!
There will also be Yoga and Stretching classes, along with instructions on how to make a healthy snack, and The Boys & Girls Club will be providing the necessary supplies/ingredients!
This program is open to all JROB students from 2:30-4:30 and is sure to fill up fast, so be sure to fill out the application by going to this link:

**IMPORTANT COVID-19 SYMPTOMS UPDATE**
Please note that a headache as the only symptom is no longer a COVID-19 symptom.
However, If your child has the following symptoms he/she will need to stay home until I or our health assistant have cleared him/her to return school:
FEVER/CHILLS
MUSCLE/BODY ACHES/FATIGUE
CONGESTION/RUNNY NOSE
LOSS OF TASTE OR SMELL
SORE THROAT, COUGH OR DIFFICULTY BREATHING
NAUSEA/VOMITING
DIARRHEA
If your child is experiencing any of the symptoms above, please keep your child at home and call the school. Follow up with your medical provider. In order to for your child to return to school, one of the following criteria must be met:
Your Child CANNOT return to school until he/she has met ONE of the following requirements:
Your child has tested negative for COVID AND 24 hours have passed without a fever (or fever reducing medication) AND symptoms have resolved. ATTACH a copy of negative COVID test ❏
A healthcare provider has provided documentation that the symptoms are typical of an underlying chronic condition (e.g. allergies or asthma) OR a healthcare provider has confirmed an alternative named diagnosis (e.g. Streptococcal pharyngitis). ATTACH a copy of doctor’s note ❏
If your child has not tested or tested positive, then the student MUST complete at least 10 days of isolation (from the time symptoms first appeared) AND the above symptoms have improved or resolved AND has been fever free for at least 24 hours (without a fever reducing medication).
***Student MUST be cleared by school personnel before returning to school***
CLOSE CONTACTS/School-aged household members:
Due to the congregate nature (of household contacts) and high risk for outbreaks, we will continue to send siblings and other school-aged household contacts home to quarantine. The LB Health Department states that anyone with COVID like symptoms is a "Probable Case". Household contacts will need to quarantine at home for 10 days after last exposure to the sick sibling and/or COVID-19 positive person (or probable case).

A 🎵 from our MUSIC Teacher Ms. Sanchez
Hello middle school families, if your middle school student is returning to school in-person, and is in band or orchestra, your student must bring their instrument, and book to school. Additionally, students must have the LBUSD Music Consent form completed. This is posted in their Canvas music page. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Additionally, I am excited to announce that my family band is now playing every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the restaurant "Casa Adelita" in the city of Paramount. I am there every weekend if you ever want to listen to mariachi and eat good Mexican food.
