Welcome to the 2017-18 School Year!
I hope that the first week of school has been a great start for your family. On behalf of the entire staff at Merryman, we welcome all students to a year of growing, exploring, and creating. My philosophy is simply that all students are capable and will learn if given the right opportunities. The staff at Merryman are prepared to provide your child an individualized learning experience, at their level, while building important relationships.
Students had great success from the workshop model around writing last year. This year we have added the reading workshop model. Be sure to ask your child about this comprehensive approach to literacy.
Have you joined us on Facebook yet? If not please do so as a way to keep in touch with weekly happenings at school! Did you have a chance to see all of the great ways to volunteer at school or with PTO? If not please give us a call to find out more or sign up online.
Just a reminder that morning drop-off can begin at 7:40 am on 6th Street. Student supervision begins at 7:40. Breakfast also begins at 7:40 am.
Students are dismissed at 3:00 pm and will be dismissed by 6th Street for pick-up.
We all know that the more students attend school, the better their achievement and behaviors. This is also true for timely attendance at school. Remember that school begins at 8:00am and students are expected to be at school on time. The back doors to school close (by 6th Street) at 7:56 am. Please enter through the front doors by the office after 7:56 am. Thank you for your attention to this!
We hope you enjoyed the open house and had an opportunity to ask your child’s teacher questions. If not feel free to call the school, email, and/or set up an appointment.
Enjoy the photos!

Box Tops for Education
It's so easy! You can find Box Tops on hundreds of participating products. Just clip them and send them in to school! Twice a year, our school submits all its Box Tops and receives a check in return - and our school can use that money to buy anything it needs.
Please find a fun collection worksheet below.
