Kirk Fenton News
28th June 2019
Dear Parents / Carers,
What a very busy week we have had this week! Year One enjoyed a trip to the Railway museum in York and also an afternoon of multi-sports at another MAT school. They showed great respect for others and persevered with the sports and it was super to have comments from the public about how well-behaved they were. Well done Year 1!
The rest of the week has been dedicated to Year 6 - they have sung, danced, acted, decorated, celebrated and worshipped together and have impressed us all with their talents and their growing maturity and have truly lived out the Kirk Fenton values of thanksgiving, perseverance, forgiveness and respect. Several of our Y6 pupils leave today to move up to High School. We will miss you and look forward to hearing about how you are getting on. Thank you for supporting the performance Year 5!
Next week we have our moving up days where children will have time to meet their new teachers in their new classrooms.
Our school grounds are now a designated 'No Phone Zone'. We ask that when you drop of and collect your children from school, that you put your phone away and spend the time talking to your child about their day and their learning. Thank you for supporting us in this.
Finally, don't forget that this weekend is our annual Summer Fair organised by the Friends of Kirk Fenton. The weather is set to be perfect and there will be plenty of prosecco on ice so please come and support the friends and the school as we are hoping to use money raised to buy a whole new reading book scheme.

This week we have been celebrating National School Sports Week and all children have been enthusiastically trying judo, freestyle football skills and dance. We have also been competing in our 'Mile with a Smile' challenge.
Y1 represented Kirk Fenton at a multi skills festival against other schools in our cluster. They showed fabulous resilience in the heat as well as wonderful team work and enthusiasm. Well done Y1s!
Congratulations to Liam, Harriett, Connor, George, Lucy, Evie, Rufus, Isaac, Bradley, Nicole, Charlie and Edie for showing great teamwork and beating Hensall Primary School in a very close football match in Hensall.
Y2 have been learning about the importance of exercise during their science lessons which you can see in the pictures below.
Well done to Harriett, Kyran, Ewan, Eleanor, Kenzie, Darcey, Milo, Lucy and Ivor who all won medals for showing teamwork, respect and determination for all their sporting activities throughout the year.
It has been lovely to see the children rise to new challenges so enthusiastically - keep up the good work!
