Lincoln Middle School Updates
December 18, 2020
Principal's Message
Happy Holidays to all!
We're heading out for a very welcome three-week school vacation. We end the first semester of this school year knowing that the work of teachers, students and families has experienced a major shift. Our hope is to return to campus as soon as it's safe to do so. Thank you families for your understanding and support during our virtual school experience. Thank you teachers, counselors, instructional aides, cafeteria, custodial, security and office staff for making the huge pivot to online school this year. When the PTSA board met last Friday, I shared that I hope that they will be writing a check to hire Oceanside lifeguards for our 8th grade beach picnic in June. Let's hope!
PTSA
Our Lincoln Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is up and running! Our PTSA is an invaluable source of support for our students and staff. Membership is $20 plus a $1 processing fee on the easy-to-use website, called Totem. Please see the welcome note from our PTSA membership chair, Cristina McCloud, listed below.
Secondary Learning Centers
We will continue to operate our SLCs when we return in January. Students continue online instruction, spaced and masked, in a classroom with adult supervision. This option has been beneficial for many students. Use the link below to add your child's name to the wait list.
Hybrid Return Postponed
Our scheduled return to hybrid instruction on January 11 has been postponed. The link below will take you to the letter that was emailed to all families last week. Middle and High schools will be able to open after our county moves from the purple tier into the red level. We will continue to monitor the pandemic's impact on our community and will keep you informed as we move forward through this difficult time.

WELCOME TO LINCOLN MIDDLE SCHOOL PTSA
Congratulations on having a middle school student! We, the Lincoln middle school PTSA
would like to welcome you to our school! We know this has been an extraordinary year for
everyone. If there is anything we can do to assist you, please contact us.
Our PTSA (Parent Student and Teacher Association) does many things for our students and
teachers, examples include:
● School wide assemblies
● Supplementary funding for field trips
● Team transportation to away game sports
● Teacher appreciation activities
● Lifeguards for 8th grade beach picnic
● Scholarships for students in need.
All of these activities require a lot of help and work, that's where your generous donation comes
in. We know this year has been a challenge for everyone, still our students and teachers need
all of our support.
We encourage you to join our PTSA and make a difference in your child's education. Our
membership fee is $20 plus $1 additional processing fee.
PTSA meets virtually on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:15 pm until we can meet in
person. Please stop by to our meetings to stay informed of what is happening at the school and
to learn ways you can stay involved. Our next meeting is Wednesday, January 13. A Zoom invitation will be sent out once we return from the holidays.
We look forward to working with you for our children's success.
