LCES United: Together We Are More!

Mrs. Hladun's Tidings

Our team is committed to ensuring that our staff models "The Colt Way" - that is, we are safe, respectful, responsible and problem solvers. Modeling this allows us to set the expectation for our students to do their best to follow The Colt Way, too, in a developmentally/age appropriate way. We agreed as a staff team that it is important for families to know when a child's choices are not in line with The Colt Way, especially if their choices lead to a formal consequence. In those cases, your child's teacher will reach out to you via phone, email and or a note to communicate what took place. It is our hope that by communicating with our families in these situations, we can work in partnership to support students at school. We are committed to helping our children learn The Colt Way so that all of our students come to school feeling safe, ready to learn, and ready to have fun!

Please mark your calendars for our Extra Early Release week the week of Monday, 10/30-Friday, 11/3. All K students will attend school from 8-11:20 am that week. All students in grades 1-5 will attend from 8:15-12:30. Lunch WILL be provided to grades 1-5 that week. Grades 1-3 will have lunch from 11-11:40 and grade 4-5 from 11:50-12:30 pm. The early dismissal will allow our teachers to meet with every family for a progress report conference in the afternoon.

It's fall and that means we have our PTC Fall Carnoween to look forward to on Saturday, 10/21! Our PTC needs many volunteers throughout the event to help it be a spooky success. Please click here to sign up to volunteer before, during or after the event. Find the full flier linked below.

I hope you'll scroll down to see pictures of how we are embracing the idea of "Farm to Fork" at LCE. We are actively seeking a few parents who would like to volunteer one day a week to help with our garden projects - we have many ways to get involved. Please email or call Mrs. Karla Noyes ( to learn more!
