Workshop with industrial felt- September 25-26 / 2021

Two days working with industrial felt

Irma is a textile artist who is inspired by nature and the people who surrounds her in a special way. She processes her ideas on industrial felt, which she draws on with the sewing machine.

Then parts are cut away, creating spaces between the artwork and for example, a wall. As a result, backgrounds and shadows are playing a role in the piece of art. Irma lives and works in the Netherlands.

The 2 days program

Day 1:

We start at 9 AM with coffee/tea and homemade cake. At 9.30 AM Irma will give a lecture about her work, her sources of inspiration. After the lecture she will help you finding a topic and in what you want to say with your design. You will get also advice about materials and colours you are using.

A healthy lunch is served at 12.30 - 13.00 pm.

In the afternoon you are going to make our own design on paper with hatching's to be applied later on the work.

The first day ends around 17.00 pm.

Day 2:

With the sewing-machine you are going to embroider your design. You can do pieces by hand if you want. After that, parts are cut out and finished under the watchful eye of Irma.

Lunch as day 1.

We are ending the day around 17.00 pm.
