Eighth Grade
Eighth Graders had a chance to meet with Katie from the National Archives in Washington, D.C. a few weeks ago to learn about the Bill of Rights and how it applies to them. We have since been studying the Amendments to the Constitution and are currently working on court cases involving students' rights that have gone all the way to the Supreme Court.
Looking forward in eighth grade we will be working on our Action Citizen Project using Generation Citizen. In years past, students worked with state and local lawmakers to get bills to help homeless students, work on mental health issues and homelessness. I am excited to see where the students want to go this year.
Seventh Grade
Seventh Graders are wrapping up the Ancient Cultures of Africa. We will be moving into a study of Greece and Rome. I will be reading aloud some Greek Mythology to the students. One of my favorite things to do with them!
