Welcome to 4K at Rose Glen!
2021-2022
Meet Mrs. Jenna Krahn
I am very excited to have the opportunity to get to know you and your child and to provide them with a nurturing “first” school experience. I feel honored to be guiding your child’s learning and growth. This year they’ll meet new friends, learn lots of new skills, and make wonderful new memories.
I absolutely love teaching our littlest learners! I have been teaching 4K for SDW for 11 years. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I also have a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from UW-Milwaukee. So, as you can see, I LOVE to learn new things! When I am not teaching or planning awesome things for us to do at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Joe and our two-year-old daughter, Lucille. The best way to reach me is by email. My email address is jkrahn@waukesha.k12.wi.us
Meet Mrs. Sharon Kaufman
Visit the Teacher
School Visits are…
An opportunity for me to learn more about your child’s interests and strengths. I value the knowledge and insights you can share about your child.
A chance to share the goals you have for your child while they are in 4K.
A chance to ask any questions or share concerns you may have.
An opportunity for us to work together to support the development of your child.
A way to ease any anxiety that your child may have before making the transition to school.
Please sign-up using the link below if you are interested in meeting with me next week :)
Arrival and Dismissal
All 4K children enter and exit the building at door #2 in the front of the building. Parents may park in the parking lot and walk with their child using the crosswalk. DO NOT WALK IN BETWEEN THE BUSSES. At drop-off, please wait with your child until they are safely in the building. Buses also drop off in the front of the building, so if your child is taking the bus, they will go directly to door #2 and not the playground with the older kids. At the end of the school day, if your child is taking a bus, either myself or Mrs. Kaufman will put your child on the bus. Please let me know if there will be someone else picking up your child. If you have any other specific questions, please let me know!
4K Curriculum & Goals
Healthy Snack
Please send ONE “ready to eat” healthy snack and reusable, spill-proof water bottle with your child to school each day (no twist-off bottle tops please) . If the snack requires a spoon or fork, please send that along as well. Water is the only drink that is allowed for snack time. Our classroom is carpeted, so if juice or milk were to spill it would be a sticky mess!
School Supplies
School supplies do NOT need to be labeled, since in 4K we share supplies. Your child’s extra clothing DOES need to be labeled and put inside a ziploc bag with your child’s name.
Come Dressed to Play
4K will provide your child many new and exciting experiences. It is important that they are dressed comfortably and ready for their day. Since we often get messy in 4K, we ask that your child wear play clothes. Please have them wear comfortable, safe shoes, preferably tennis shoes. NO FLIP-FLOPS!! Also, please make sure you dress your child in clothing they can easily and independently maneuver when they go to the bathroom.
Self-Help Skills and Bathroom Etiquette
It is important that the children in 4K are independent in their bathroom routine and know how to wash their hands properly. It’s also a good idea to discuss public bathroom etiquette before school starts. That includes how to shut and lock the bathroom stall door and respect others' privacy in the bathroom.
