The Wonderful World of Woodbury

Weekly Update for Families: September 12th

Friendly Reminders

We hope you had a great week and were able to enjoy a little bit of the Sandwich Fair! It sure was a busy one this year!

CITY SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION: From October 3rd-October 10th, the City of Sandwich will be fixing sidewalks on both Lafayette and Washington St. Please use caution when dropping of your students. Streetside parking will not be available on those dates while that work is being done.

EARLY DIMISSAL: This week there is an early dismissal on Friday at 11:10 a.m.

PERSONAL ITEMS: Please avoid sending personal items to school with your child such as electronics, special toys, trading cards, favorite stuffed animals, etc. Unfortunately, these items can become lost of stolen or become a distraction in the classroom.

ARRIVAL & SAFETY: Please do not drop off your student on the playground before 7:45am. We are unable to provide supervision until this time. Thank you for helping us keep your child safe.

LUNCH TIME: Lunch can be tricky for our littlest learners. To the best of your ability, please avoid sending food items that your child cannot open independently. This will help us run our lunch times more efficiently.

The Woodbury Way

These students were recognized this week demonstrating the WOODBURY WAY of being SAFE, KIND, & RESPONSIBLE members of our school community! We continue practicing demonstrating respect for our learning environment and being a positive member of our school community! Way to go! Throughout the next couple of weeks we are looking for positive behavior in our lunchroom and looking for students who are using their restaurant voice and manners by speaking in a conversational tone, using good manners, and cleaning up after themselves.

Attendance Matters

Are you struggling to get your child to school each day? We are here to help! Please reach out at any time to our office if you have any health related questions for the nurse or are in need of some family supports. Our outreach when it comes to attendance is focused on supporting our families with what they need in order to provide students with the best start in their education. We are happy to have the support of a family success liaison through the DeKalb County Regional Office of Education to help our families.
