Paris's most outstanding wonder


The Eiffel Tower is one of the tallest world wonders. Standing twice as tall as the Washington Monument it has a total height of 300 meters or 968 feet.


The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 for the World Exhibition, the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. The tower was only meant to stay up during the exhibition but still it stands today

Gustave Eiffel

Gustave Eiffel was the man who constructed the Eiffel Tower hence the name. He was know for his outstanding bridge making techniques which helped him construct a basis for the Eiffel Tower. The other major thing he was known for building was the Statue of Liberty. The structure took two years to build and used approximately 7 million nails.

The Eiffel Tower was inaugurated on March 31, 1889 and was the tallest building until the construction of the Chrysler Building in 1930
