      School Transportation

If your child receives a school bus, transportation information should have already been relayed to you by the school. If not, please contact the your child's teacher or the main office so that we can provide you with that information. School transportation for Kindergarten students began on Wednesday, September 1st, and for Pre-K students it will begin on Wednesday, September 8th. If your student is in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade, please understand that he/she can be allowed off the bus without an adult present. Please be mindful of assigned bus stop times and ensure that your child is boarding the proper bus in the morning. You can always confirm with the driver that their destination is Norwood Elementary School. And if you ever have questions regarding your child's bus or need to report any issues, do not hesitate to contact the school.

Dismissal Pickup Procedures & Student Contact Info

It is extremely important that families ensure that we have the most up-to-date information in our system for any student (that includes all siblings who are also in the building, with matching information). It is based on these records that we know who to release a walker/car-rider student to when someone comes to pick them up. Parents and any emergency contacts with pickup privileges must be able to present a photo ID at any moment. This policy is for your child’s safety. If a photo ID cannot be presented (IDs without photos cannot be accepted), we will be unable to release the student. Thank you for your understanding.

Please contact the office to update any information that has changed. There is now a way for parents to review and update student contact information themselves. Simply view this short video below that explains the process, or you can click here for written instructions. And if you wish to receive emergency text messages from the school (or did at one point but they stopped), simply text the letter 'Y' or word "YES" to 67587 directly from your mobile phone. If you do not receive an automatic confirmation message, contact the main office at 443-809-7055 for assistance.

Monthly Family Unit Overview for Math

At Norwood, we welcome feedback from our families on how we can improve your children's learning experience and strive to make it as inclusive as possible. After listening to some of your suggestions, we decided to include monthly unit overviews by grade level in our newsletter. The first newsletter of the month will focus on Math while the second newsletter of the month will cover reading & writing via English Language Arts (ELA). These unit overviews are useful tools for the family to look over together and help manage expectations for your child prior to starting a new unit. Here are the current Math overviews below, both in English and Spanish for each grade level.
