RMHS MIDTERM EXAMS January 2023
All students will participate in midterm exams. We will not be doing Real World Problem Solving this year with the juniors.
Expectations (from the RMHS Student Handbook, p. 16)
Mid-Year and Final Exams
Exams are scheduled for 4 days at the end of each semester (in January and in June). Two exams are scheduled per day.
Semester-length courses generally have a 2 hour exam which counts for 20% of the student’s semester grade. In courses where an exam may be inappropriate, an alternative evaluative activity is scheduled. In courses that meet every other day, appropriate assessments are scheduled.
Students are not required to be in school except when they have a scheduled exam.
The usual school support services are available to students during exam days.
*Makeup exams due to illness or other excused absences must be approved by the Main Office

STUDENT FIELD TRIPS
The first trip included visits to the Boston Public Library and the Mapparium in Boston. Students took the commuter rail and the green line to get to their destinations. Students got a tour of the BPL and had access to all of the many resources that the library, and especially the teen room, provides.
The Mapparium was a unique experience where students got the chance to walk into the middle of giant glass globe. The globe is beautifully designed with many colors and has incredible audio effects. It was an amazing experience to actually be “inside” the globe and view the many countries of our world from the inside out! Later in the semester, we took a walking trip to our own Reading Public Library where they explored the vast resources there and met helpful staff. Our students received library cards for both the libraries as well!
