Sports & Entertainment Marketing

We are on our way to becoming Sports Moguls! We're starting Virtual Business Sports, a virtual business simulation where we create our own football franchise. We'll be drafting a team, setting prices for our stadium seats, staffing both parking lots and stadium games and concerts, promoting our events through media and specialty items and sponsorships, creating our concession stands and studying our financial statements to make sure we achieve a $6,000,000 profit for a season!

Each lesson is self contained with a reading, a reading quiz (students must score minimum 70%), a math quiz, and a simulation focusing on specific objective (students must score a minimum 70%). After we complete all ten lessons, we'll put everything together to try to achieve a winning season and make a $6,000,000 or more profit! After every three lessons, we'll have a comprehensive assessment over the lessons. The Mogul will count a part of our final exam! We may even have some friendly competition between the teams!

Principles of Business, Marketing, & Finance

We are on our way to becoming Retailing Moguls! We're starting Virtual Business Retailing, a virtual business simulation where we create our own convenience or sporting goods store. We'll be conducting marketing research, selecting our products, setting prices, promotional activities, staffing our store, managing purchasing and inventory, merchandising our shelves, identifying security issues, and always having an eye on the bottom line by analyzing our financial statements to make sure we're achieving a profit!

Each lesson is self contained with a reading, a reading quiz (students must score minimum 70%), a math quiz, and a simulation focusing on specific objective (students must score a minimum 70%). After we complete all eleven lessons, we'll put everything together to try to earn $20,000 or more weekly profit! After every three lessons, we'll have a comprehensive assessment over the lessons. The Mogul will count a part of our final exam! We may even have some friendly competition between the retailers!

Entrepreneurship

Our business plans are beginning to take shape and we'll focus on our specific advertising and promotional items this week. We'll design a website, a print ad, , a slide show, and a business brochure.

Please encourage your students to turn in their assignments in a timely manner so they don't have late penalties. Since all are working independently on their own business plans, they need to try to turn in work on a weekly basis. I leave the assignments open for a week or so without any penalty. If students get too far behind, they should work on the assignments outside of class. I'm happy to help them in any way I can.

I send retake opportunities when summatives post so please check your emails or Canvas notifications Students are also sent notifications when summatives post, especially if they do not turn in a project. We will compile all sections of our business plan into one document at the end of the semester and students may add any missing sections into their final business plan.
