Message from the Principal

Dear Carlton Families,

We are extremely proud to receive the 2023 California Distinguished School Award from the California Department of Education. Carlton is one of 356 elementary schools in the state that were selected based on analysis of data reported through the 2022 Dashboard, including assessment results, chronic absenteeism, suspension rates, and socioeconomic data.

Representatives from our school will be attending an award ceremony in February in Anaheim, California.

This outstanding achievement is a testament to the excellent instruction and learning experiences provided by our teachers. I want to thank our teachers and our entire staff for all of their hard work and commitment to meeting the needs of our students. I also want to recognize the important role that our parent/guardians have played in helping their children learn and supporting our school. Congratulations to the entire Carlton community!

Mary Katayama

Principal

Please join us on January 17th at 8:15 am in the Carlton staff room for an informative meeting about how you can support our school community by substitute teaching. The process for signing up is easy and the rewards are huge.
