Principals Desk

This morning at Lincoln and across the whole district teachers were greeted with breakfast treats and coffee. In addition, we were given gift cards to raffle off to our staff. First of all, I would like to thank our Lincoln community and the broader St. Charles community for acknowledging how challenging this year has been and also for showing their appreciation for our staff. It is so thoughtful, and definitely welcome during this week. Thank you.

This week 3rd and 5th-grade students were administered the CogAT test, these results will be shared later in the year and help identify students for programming in middle school and for AT Math and Literacy in 4th and 5th grades.

Yesterday although, we honored our community Veterans. Thank you to Ms. Molodor and Ms. Borkowski for supporting this and preparing our students to perform. Our student council also spoke on behalf of the student body thanking those veterans in attendance for their service. I have included some photos of the morning festivities and photos of the group of veterans who came from a local retirement community.

In addition, Lincoln School will participate in the St. Charles Tree Trail, please see the flyer below regarding ornament directions for families. Thank you.

E-Learning Plan and Emergency Days

The School Board has approved an E-Learning plan that gives the district the option to offer remote learning in place of emergency days. Currently, our last day of school is Tuesday, May 24, which is the week before Memorial Day. As we move into the winter months, we want to update you on the plan for how the district will manage emergency days and e-learning days.

  • If we experience inclement weather, the first three days will be “snow days” that will be made up at the end of the school year on May 25, 26, and 27 as needed.

  • Subsequent emergency days will be remote days so the last attendance day will still be before Memorial Day.

  • If there is a long stretch of inclement weather (blizzard, polar vortex, etc.), we may split the days into “snow days” and e-learning days so as to not have too many non-attendance days in a row.

Virtual Book Fair

Lincoln's Virtual Book Fair is coming to a computer or mobile device near you! We are excited to host a virtual book fair online through Anderson's Bookshop from Nov. 24-Dec.13. Books will be delivered to Lincoln on December 16. You will also have the option to have books shipped to you for an additional cost. All proceeds of the virtual book fair will go towards purchasing additional titles for the Lincoln LRC. Consider doing some of your holiday shopping through our book fair; you will be supporting both a local business and literacy at Lincoln! Contact karin.cranmer@d303.org with any questions.

Psst! You can actually start ordering now! Visit abcfairs.com to order books online and be sure to include Lincoln Elementary, St. Charles in your order.
