Dear SMMS Parents,
Happy New Year! Annually, every public school in Georgia asks parents for feedback via a survey. The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions and can be completed using a personal computer, smartphone or tablet. I encourage parents to participate because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous, self-reported, and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. Thank you for your continued support of our school. The link is posted below.

Zero Period and Power Hour are back in full swing for those who are interested in taking advantage of these opportunities. Remember Wednesday afternoons are generally math and science, while Thursday is ELA and social studies. Also a quick reminder that students must have a signed permission slip to participate, and should be sure to speak to the teacher they would like to stay with to receive a form. 8th grade students are picked up around the back of the building in the bus loop.

If you love to write here is a great opportunity. Entries must be original work...no help from friends, family, or teachers. See your ELA teacher for further details or any questions you may have.
