Chapters of My Life
By Brooke Lane
Dedications
I would like to dedicate this soundtrack to my parents. My dad motivates me to be successful and has taught me that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. My mom has always been there to comfort me in times of need and has set a good example as to how I should be when I'm older. I couldn't ask for better parents. They have made me into the person I am today.
"The House That Built Me" by Miranda Lambert (4:11)
We left our house in Burke County when I was 8 years old. At the time, I was excited about moving, but now I miss it. I would move back in a heartbeat. I have so many memories there.
Miranda Lambert - The House That Built Me
"Changed" by Rascal Flatts (4:23)
Becoming a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church was the best decision our family has ever made. I was baptized 3 years ago and that night meant a lot to me .
Rascal Flatts - Changed
"The More Boys I Meet" by Carrie Underwood (3:37)
I chose this song not only because it happens to be the truth, but because it reminds me of my dog Daisy. Growing up as an only child, she was always by my side and played the role of my sister. I believe that a dog can be a girl's best friend. She was just as much a part of the family as anyone else.
The More Boys I Meet Carrie Underwood lyrics
"September" by Daughtry (3:57)
Where has the time gone? The past few years have flown by and it's hard to believe that I will soon be an adult. With the leaves falling and the cool air settling in, this time of year makes me think back to my childhood and how things were when I was a kid.
Daughtry - September
"Lean On Me" by Bill Withers (4:28)
This song was played a lot when I was growing up and makes me think of my friends and family. I'm blessed to be surrounded by so many people that have always been there for me.
Bill Withers - Lean On Me [with lyrics]
"Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill (5:14)
This song was played at my cousin's funeral last summer. He was killed in a car crash right after he graduated high school. This song also makes me think of my grandpa who was a victim of brain cancer about 4 years ago. They were two of the nicest people you would ever meet and it's hard to believe they're no longer here.
'Go Rest High On That Mountain' - Vince Gill.
"Downside of Growing Up" by Maddie & Tae (3:27)
Life has its ups and its downs. Growing up is bittersweet. Looking back on my past can be sad when I think about the good times and how those days are gone, but then I think about my future and realize that my past has led me to where I am today. In order to get where you're going in life, you have to go through some tough times.
Maddie & Tae - Downside Of Growing Up (Acoustic)
"A Love Without End, Amen" by George Strait (3:07)
My dad and I used to sing this song in the car all the time when I was little. I loved to ride in his old truck and no matter where we went, we always had a George Strait CD playing.
George Strait- A love without end, amen
"Like My Mother Does" by Lauren Alaina (4:17)
Everyone has always said that me and my mom are just alike. She has sacrificed a lot for me and is someone that I look up to.
Lauren Alaina - Like My Mother Does
"Good Life" by OneRepublic (4:08)
This song makes me think of my family's past vacations. I love visiting new places and getting to see different cultures. We visited San Antonio this summer and it was interesting how different it was from where we live.
OneRepublic - Good Life
"Even If It Breaks Your Heart" by Eli Young Band (3:43)
I played golf for SCHS my freshman through junior year. During my sophomore year, I made all conference and qualified for regionals for the first time. By the end of my junior year, I had finished 3rd in the conference. It was frustrating when I first started, but I had improved by a great amount by my junior year. You can do anything you set your mind to.
Eli Young Band - Even If It Breaks Your Heart
"Stop This Train" by John Mayer (4:45)
It's my last year of high school and I will be starting my on life soon. The thought of leaving my home and family over the next few years is a hard thing to grasp. I wish that I could rewind time back to when I was little.
John Mayer - Stop This Train
