Staff weekly newsletter July 15-19, 2019
Mrs. Diane Jones--Assistant Principal
My name is Diane Jones. I have been employed with the Texarkana Arkansas School District for 25 years. I will be an assistant principal at Trice Elementary along side Mr. Arnold in the upcoming 2019-20 school year. I grew up and graduated high school from North Community High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from Southern Arkansas University- Magnolia, Arkansas. I have eight grown children, 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. I live in Texarkana with my husband, Billy.
Ms. Kimberly Collins
Hi, my name is Kimberly Collins. I am thirty-two years old. I was born and raised in the Texarkana area. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M in 2012, I am qualified to teach both General and Special Education. I started working for the Texarkana Arkansas School District in August of 2016. I have spent the last three years working at College Hill Elementary as the Special Education-Resource teacher for grades K-5. This year will be my first as part of the Trice family.
I do not have any children of my own, however, I am part of a very close nit family all of which live in this area. I am the oldest of four. I have two brothers and one sister. I am very blessed to have both my parents and grandparents as part of my support system.
My hobbies include reading and traveling when possible. I have been to New York and California.
One of the main reasons I entered the field of Special Education, is to show students that despite whatever obstacles they may face, goals can still be met, and dreams can become a reality.
I am sincerely looking forward to helping the student realize their full potential as part of the Special Education Team at Trice Elementary.
Ms. Collins will be replacing Ms. Latoya Smith who was reassigned to CHE for the upcoming school year. We will miss Ms. Smith and wish her well next school year.
Mrs. Michelle Newman
I am a mother of six- four boys, a stepson, and a stepdaughter. My husband and I have been married for five years.
I have taught 18 years. I have been a teacher in Bryant, Arkansas, Pleasant Grove, and in the Texarkana Arkansas School District. I have been with TASD for the past 11 years. I spent the past 10 at Union as a dyslexia interventionist.
I’m looking forward to working with each of you! I’m here to help in anyway you need.
Mrs. Newman will be replacing Mrs. Newton who is transferring to Fairview this year. We will miss Mrs. Newton and wish her well next school year.
