Observational Look Fors continued
-Learning Targets that include a verb, the content/skill, and activity.
-Students beginning to communicate the learning target of the activity.
-Math manipulatives: All math lessons, all math activities have manipulatives, charts, etc to scaffold the math activity. If you do not, your activity is entirely at the abstract level and our kids need to be working at the concrete and representational level to firm up their understanding.
-Formative assessment is evident

I am thinking the sieve method should have been around when someone tried to teach me prime and composite. I might have understood it.

The LT was read aloud by a student, a short time later another student read it aloud to revisit the LT and before the students began their independent work a student repeated the directions to the activity.
