Beginning Monday, October 18, 2021, visitors will be allowed back on elementary campuses in the following capacities:
- Library volunteers (must be scheduled and approved with the librarian)
- LTHS PALS program
- LT Mentors
- PTO Meetings/volunteers
- Lunch visitors as space permits
- Garden Volunteers
All visitors and volunteers must be scheduled in advance.
All visitors and volunteers must "Raptor" in in the front office.

We look forward to having volunteers! Specifically, at this time, we are able to have library volunteers to help shelve books and to help with our upcoming Book Fair. We will be able to welcome mentors through the LT Mentor program, and PTO's can now have meetings on campus if preferred.
At this time we are not asking for parents to volunteer in the classroom. Volunteering to help with take home projects can be a huge help though!
I am also excited to announce that our high school PALS program will start again soon. PALS is a high school program designed to connect high school students mentor and support our elementary students.

flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A PROCLAMATION
General Colin Powell was a patriot of unmatched honor and dignity. The son of immigrants, born in New York City, raised in Harlem and the South Bronx, a graduate of the City College of New York, he rose to the highest ranks of the United States military and to advise four Presidents. He believed in the promise of America because he lived it. And he devoted much of his life to making that promise a reality for so many others. He embodied the highest ideals of both warrior and diplomat. He led with his personal commitment to the democratic values that make our country strong. He repeatedly broke racial barriers, blazing a trail for others to follow, and was committed throughout his life to investing in the next generation of leadership. Colin Powell was a good man who I was proud to call my friend, and he will be remembered in history as one of our great Americans.
As a mark of respect for General Powell and his life of service to our Nation, I hereby order, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset on October 22, 2021. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this eighteenth day of October, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-one, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-sixth. JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR.
FRESH START RUN CLUB IS BACK!
Dear Parents,
Kids and parents have been asking, and we have settled into the school year, so Run Club is back! Our Mustang Run Club is open to 3rd - 5th graders who would like to start their mornings off with a run on the track. We are going to meet on Tues. and Weds. mornings from 7:20-7:40 on the track. No sign up is needed nor do they need to come every time. Students will drop their backpacks in their classroom and then come out
to the track. We will keep track of their miles and they can earn a toe tag for each mile they run. It is a privilege to come to the run club. Students’ behavior and effort must meet expectations. The run club helps students get a fresh start to their morning and enter the classroom ready to learn.
We look forward to seeing 3rd -5th graders on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, 7:20 - 7:40! If it is rainy or the weather is below 40 degrees we will not meet. I am looking forward to working with your kiddos and helping them start their mornings off on the right foot!
