Soul Café Helpful Hints
It is up to each individual if you want to set up/make coffee before service or during service (I personally feel better if I prep before service)!
**YOU HAVE TO RUN A "TEST POT" OF JUST WATER BEFORE MAKING COFFEE!!!**
Coffee (see instruction sheet in drawer under the coffee maker) typically 2 pots regular and 1 decaf.
If service looks like a “larger” crowd you can make 1 regular pot during soul café.
Treats- usually can be found on top of the soul café cart or on kitchen counter.
At times they may be located in the fridge or freezer,
but we try to let you know if that is the case.
Juice, Milk, & Coffee can be brought to the gathering area on a cart from the kitchen.
You can serve coffee from carafes located underneath island in the kitchen.
Napkins, stirrers, cups, etc should be in the soul café cart. Please make sure the sugar, sweet n low, stirrers, powdered creamer, and napkins are on top of soul café cart to be easily accessible. If something is low you can look in the back kitchen pantry. If you notice something is empty or running low please let Mary or Camilla know.

Tornado Damage Disaster Relief
HOW CAN WE HELP?
Requests have been coming in as to how to assist with the tornado damage that occurred over the weekend in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference. Those who would like to make a monetary donation can do so through the IGRC Disaster Response Advance #6800.
***If you would like to donate to this cause, please send/bring your checks to the church. Your checks should be made out to Prospect United Methodist Church with "Advance #6800" on the memo line. ***
Let us continue to pray for all who have homes damaged and for those responding.
MARCH TO THE MANGER & CHOIR CANTATA
March to the Manger & Choir Cantata: Sunday, December 16th
This year’s March to the Manger and Choir Cantata will be held during the 8:45am service on December 16th. Each year, following the choir’s cantata, the congregation is given an opportunity to bring a special offering to the manger as a present for Christ and his work through the Missions Ministries/Partnerships of Prospect UMC. This offering, along with the entirety of the offering received during our 7:00pm Christmas Eve service go to support the mission’s budget of the church (i.e. We do not keep any of these special offerings for our own budget needs. We give them away as a means of reminding ourselves that “Christmas is not our birthday”).
Dunlap Senior Center at Prospect UMC!
Now located on the upper level of the church, in the Fellowship Hall, the Senior Activity Center is open every Tuesday and Thursday (except for holidays) from 9:00am-3:00pm for men and women 50 years and older and is free!
The Senior Center provides a warm setting where you can meet people, join a card game, put together a puzzle, play Mexican Train dominoes, or just sit and chat with a cup of coffee. We also have a pool table and ping pong available!
Eventually they will also be offering classes such as easy exercise, line dancing, sewing, women's and men's crafts and other activities that may interest you.
Questions? Please email the coordinators at dunlapscac@gmail.com.
