Visitors this week
SIGH.
However, the visits they made and the connections they took away were outstanding. I am always so proud you and the work that you do....here are the Crestview Elementary's reflections and takeaways from their visit.
- NWEA groupings make you work smarter, not harder.
- Task cards per student make it easier to track individual students' progress.
- Teachers could speak to the specificity of data, not just have general data conversations.
- There's a sense of urgency in every conversation.
- Campus hot spots...more work, but more specific.
- A climate of positivity and encouragement
They went around the group and each shared something but my above all favorite thing shared was the lady who said that she felt like they have always had GOOD INTENTIONS but that she saw a difference in between that and being intentional.
I hope you see how others see you. You're doing what's best for kids, each and every day. They drove 6 hours to spend just four hours walking our halls and talking to our people. That's incredible, y'all...

Checkpoint, check!
Key takeaways:
- Our kids are amazing.
- Our teachers are RIGHT on top of what their Wolves need.
- We get to move forward even more data-informed than we were before, and we were already pretty informed.
- No one in this building is ever satisfied with their results...bless it!
Checkpoint is just another opportunity to see where we are and how we can tighten up instruction, even more, moving forward.
THANK YOU to our paras, who give up their day to cut paper towels, help us out, and smile at Wolves. Step counts were LEGIT! We made game-time decisions and people responded with grace and positivity. Thank you to those who were pulled from your regular world to help us with testing, we appreciate you!
Also, high five Morgan Power...you have a GREAT system in place!
Morgan's Musings
Checkpoint Makeups
- We knocked out a a few today, and have a few planned for tomorrow!
- Michele H. will be testing the remaining friends Friday if they are here. This will be in the computer lab!
- This means K-2, Friday computer PACK is in the library with Mirella and Denise!
- If you STILL have kids out-they can take the assessment with you in the classroom next week. I will give you the tests and scantrons. Let me know when they are done, and I will ask them to open the window again to scan.
Thank you, test administrators and paras, for ensuring yet another smooth test administration!

Illness Prevention
Please take the time to remind your students of the appropriate handwashing technique, as well as the proper way to cover coughs and sneezes. Here are two short videos that may be helpful (when you have internet connection).

Also, please check your class schedule to ensure you have already built in opportunities for your students to wash their hands.
Thanks and let me know if I can be of any help!
