Notes from our Director
Hello DATA community,
Tuesday night is Open House/PTSA Greenback night. The agenda and details for Open House are listed below. If you are unable to join us in-person, there will be an online version posted to the TR campus website after Tuesday.
Homecoming week has arrived and there will be spirit days each day of this week (see graphic below). We look forward to seeing all participate in the spirit days. Homecoming tickets are available for sale during all lunches this week.
This week also marks the end of the sixth week of school. UIL grade check will be pulled after this week is complete. Please be sure that you are staying on top of your grades, attending tutoring if assistance is needed, and making up any missed work. Part of remaining in the DATA program requires that your grades remain at high levels. Last year, some grades slipped and an over-abundance of grace was extended due to the pandemic, however, this year we will be upholding the expectations of good grades, good attendance, and good discipline record.
Please review the many details included below. If you have specific questions, please reach out so we can assist with those items. Have a wonderful week and please continue to stay safe.

AP testing information and other important AP course details
If you are taking an AP (Advanced Placement) course, we strongly encourage you to challenge the AP exam for that course. Taking an AP exam and earning credit for the college course can save you tons on tuition in college. Below are some important details and reminders for you about AP testing and AP exam preparation.
AP Testing Information for this Year
- AP exams will all be given on paper, on-campus this year (certain foreign language exams will be done on computer again but still administered on campus only).
- There will only be one administration window (May 2-13, 2022) and one makeup window (May 17-20, 2022).
- October 1, 2021, is the fall registration deadline for AP exams. This is completed in AP Classroom. November 3, 2021 is the Fall payment deadline for the 2022 AP exams (completed by credit card through Skyward Student Portal or by cash through the Counseling/CCMR specialist office). There will be a Spring registration with Spring payments due in March before we leave for Spring Break. The Spring registration is for Spring semester classes only (AP Psychology, AP US Government, AP Comparative Government, and AP macroeconomics), not full year AP classes. All full year AP classes must be registered by October 1.
AP Exam Registration To-Do list for students
Students should prepare for their 2021-2022 AP courses and exams by completing the following:
- Visit https://apstudent.collegeboard.org to learn more about AP courses and exams.
- Create a College Board account if they do not have one already. Students will need their username and password when their AP classes begin in the fall.
- Students can call AP Services for Students Help Line at 1-888-225-5427 or 1-212-632-1780 if they already have an account but cannot remember their password or if they need to reconcile multiple College Board accounts.
- Teachers will give students a join code for each of their AP courses. Students will use their College Board username and password and join code to enroll in their class section.
- Since exams are ordered for specific students, and labels will be printed according to student registration rosters, there will be no stand-by testing opportunities. Remember, when you register for an exam, enter your NEISD Student ID# and your name as it appears in Skyward.
AP Classroom
- Please make sure you have joined the AP Classroom ASAP. If you do not know your information, you will need to call 888-225-5427 for assistance.
- Students need to join on time in order to avoid late fees/unused fees.
- There are many useful videos and tips to assist students with studying for the AP exam. Students can use the resources as study materials for the exams.
