FACS

Students this week have presented their Student Lead Lessons on "Effective Communication" as part of the curriculum's focus on team collaboration. We definitely have some outside of the box thinkers in FACS. A team from my 7th hour used a program called Kahoot! and put together a Quiz. They even have slides or class polls - all in one. The program made the quiz more like a game! This type of assignment made it possible for all learners have an important role in class instruction.

Technology (Robtoics, STEM and Design and Modeling)

Design and Modeling- Students this week worked on finishing up their drawings for their puzzle cube that they are creating in class. Students had to use their knowledge of multi view drawings to create one mulit view drawing for each of the 5 pieces that they have in the puzzle cube. When students completed the multi view drawings then they moved onto isometric drawings (3d drawings) of each of their pieces. When both of those steps are completed students then will get the woodblocks to create their actual puzzle cube for class. This was due at the beginning of class on Wednesday 9/25/19. Students had two class days to solve each others and had some adults solve theirs as well.

6th Multimedia - We finished up our Scratch coding projects this week where we created a Catching Game. Then we moved into our 1st graphic design project where we are using PowerPoint and its graphic design tools to create their own Personalized License Plate that will be due on Tuesday October 1st.

7th & 8th Multimedia - We started working with Adobe Photoshop this week and learning about the tools and basic functions. Friday they started their Invent An Animal project where they have to choose 2 animals and combine them using Photoshop to create a new animal.

Please make sure your student will have their own earbuds/headphones available to use daily in my class.
