Mrs. Rollins' Class
Room 104
This and that
Reader's Workshop: We started our non fiction unit last week. We started by sorting different non fiction books into categories, then discussed different text features. This week we will study how using the text features will help us become better readers!
Phonics/Word Study- this week we will study syllables- including all the different kinds of syllable patterns. Next week everyone will get the same sort- open/closed syllables! This coming Friday, we will have a spelling pattern "check up" over our current words/patterns.
Math: Last week we learned about comparing and ordering by weight. We also learned about scales and how they are used to measure weight. We also reviewed some math skills using candy hearts, it was super fun! This week will be a review week as we get ready for our math quiz. We will be reviewing: addition/subtraction problems, odd and even, ordering temperature, money identification, and graphing.
Science/Social Studies: After learning all about US Symbols, we will be learning about the significance of President's Day and dental health!
