Week of October 14th
What's Happening?
I hope everyone has had a restful and relaxing fall break! I know I enjoyed getting some sand between my toes for a couple of days.
Student Council is sponsoring a canned food drive for the Gwinnett Great Days of Service this week. Send in any donations to school. Personal toiletry items are also accepted during this drive.
Book Fair will be open beginning next week. Our purchase day is Monday, October 21st at 1:00. The book fair will also be open during conference days.
Relay for Life is selling "Boo Grams" to support the American Cancer Society. Students brought home info before Fall Break.

What are we learning?
Math (Mrs. Lee's Class): We are continuing our unit on decimals. We will be focusing this week on comparing and ordering decimals as well as rounding.
Science (Mrs. Lee's Class): We are continuing our unit on Microorganisms. We are learning how they can both help us and harm us. Students have been researching microorganisms. They will create a poster to prove if their microorganism is helpful or harmful.
Social Studies: We are beginning our World War I unit
Writing: prepositions and prepositional phrases
Reading: We have completed our book clubs. We are going to spend some time reading and understanding poetry before we begin our nonfiction reading unit.
