THE HOW: Starting on November 26th donated items will be collected within each classroom. Clothing items will donated to the SPS Clothing bank and toys/books/games will be donated to the Cents of Pride Store at Portland Elementary.

Mr. Holt's Notes
Dear parent:
The BlackBoard Connect Message was rescheduled for 11/16 because of the inclement weather that took place Monday evening.
On Friday, Nov. 16, at 6:30 p.m. Springfield Public Schools will conduct a test of its automated telephone notification system, BlackBoard Connect. This test helps ensure that accurate numbers are listed for students whose parents wish to receive telephone notifications, including activity announcements, school cancellations and emergency notifications. As part of the test, all phone numbers (primary and emergency) listed for the student will receive a telephone call. Text messages will also be sent to these numbers.
Prior to Nov. 12, please communicate with individuals you have listed on your student’s contact sheet about these test message so they will be expecting the phone call and text message. Also, please check with them after the test to confirm that they received the messages. If the test indicates your child’s correct contacts were not called, please contact your child’s school and provide the following information:
a. Your name and daytime telephone number.
b. The name of your child.
c. The name and correct telephone number of the contact that requires a change and indicate whether it should be added, corrected or deleted. Also, state the person’s relationship to the student (mother, father, aunt, friend, etc.).
Individuals who receive a phone call or text message in error should email their phone number to communications@spsmail.org and request that it be deleted from the database.
The success of this notification system is dependent upon accurate contact information for each student. If contact numbers change during the school year, please notify your child’s school office immediately. Learn more.
Thank you.
