Miss Fore's Class

Week of May 23rd

I can't believe this is the last week of school! I want to thank each of your for entrusting your child to me each day. I have loved getting to know this group of children and your families. I am so proud of the amazing progress each child has made. I also want to send a HUGE thank you to Megan Murphy-Bishop for all of her hard work as room mom. She has done an outstanding job handling all of the behind the scenes details this year. I hope you all have a wonderful summer!

Summer Practice

Some of you have asked how you can extend the learning throughout the summer. I suggest you purchase a 2nd-3rd grade basic skills workbook that includes Reading Comprehension practice, as well as Math skills. I recommend working through one page a day to keep the skills fresh in their minds.

Each child should be reading EVERY DAY. A daily journal is a great way to keep the writing skills on level, especially if you are traveling. I know that many of your children have a lot planned for the summer so there should be a lot for them to write about!

Your child will have a more difficult time adjusting to 2nd grade if you choose to skip these suggestions.
