Hippo Nation...Better Together! Oct 2019
A Note from your CCE Principal
Dear CCES Families--
Fall is officially here! With the changing of the seasons, it is important to keep healthy as flu season is around the corner. Our campus will be offering flu shots on October 9th to students. The last day to turn in consent forms for your student is October 4th. Please reach out to your student's teacher or our campus nurse if you have any questions about the forms. Along the same lines, this month students will be practicing bus safety during their day as we partner with our fabulous transportation department to provide information about safety protocols on our buses.
This month will also be filled with many opportunities for families as our PTA will be hosting a variety of events. Please see below for opportunities to support our PTA and our school and reach out to our PTA if you are interested in supporting in any way. Direct contact via cottonwoodcreekpta@gmail.com is available for your convenience. Other events such as our Hutto High School "Pink Out" game is this Friday. Our HHS will host Georgetown ISD, please support the district and show up in your "Pink" at the game on Friday. Remember that all elementary students must be accompanied by an adult to all games for their safety. In addition, October is also Bully Prevention Week and our campus will welcome a performance later this month by "The Morris Brothers".
Reading is always in the "air" and this month we will also host a Scholastic Book Fair at our campus the last week of October. Keep an eye out for more information from our librarians, Mrs. Dodd and Mrs. Johnson.
Students will also be participating in academic screeners this month that will provide teachers with important data to help them drive their instruction and support student learning and growth. Students will participate in literacy and math screeners, teachers will share these results with parents during Parent Teacher Conferences on November 1st. The end of the 9 weeks grading period is October 18th and report cards will be available for view through the parent portal shortly after that. Thank you for supporting our campus!
Cottonwood Creek Elementary has the BEST Staff, Students, and Families! We truly are "Better Together"! Our students are "Legendary" at Cottonwood Creek Elementary!
