100th Day of School Celebration....

It is hard to believe but the 100th day of school is right around the corner. I am going to be sending home a letter soon about this special day. Each student will get the chance to bring in a collection of 100 items to share with the class (examples: 100 pennies, 100 pieces of cereal, 100 paperclips, etc...). We will also be making a special trail mix that day which will tie in with sorting things and counting by tens. There will be some information in regards to making a donation to help purchase the food items that we will use to make this trail mix. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding our festivities that day.

3rd Grade Writing Celebration...

The first graders received a special invite from the 3rd grade classes to attend their Writing Celebration. Each student in our class got to partner up with a third grade student from Mrs. True's class for this special occasion. The 3rd graders had been learning about non-fiction features along with doing research to create a non-fiction writing piece to share with the first graders. Below you will see some pictures of students sharing their writing pieces. Our class really enjoyed meeting the 3rd graders, learning more about non-fiction features, and listening to their stories. I also think they liked the special treats the 3rd graders shared with us - donut holes, cookies, and punch...yummy!
