Georgia School Personnel Survey
The Georgia School Personnel Survey (GSPS) is modeled after the student survey and includes 31 questions. The GSPS is for all certified and classified staff members who work at least 50 percent of the day in the school. At least 75% of certified and classified staff members must participate in the survey to be eligible for the School Climate Star Rating. Most teachers should be able to participate in the GSPS using their classroom computer. The survey is also accessible using a tablet or smartphone. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia School Personnel Survey link is posted below.
Overbooked: A Sawnee Reading List
Cahill is sticking with her war-based reading with one fiction and one non-fiction novel:
Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear
Maisie Dobbs is an educated woman living in the newly created middle class in post-WWI London. She works as an investigator, who relies on psychology and intuition to solve problems for her clients. This is a series of mystery novels, but the writing is a step above traditional cozy mysteries and adds in just enough historical detail to ground the stories in reality. I have enjoyed listening to the first Maisie Dobbs novel on my Audible account with the narrator adding personality to each character.
Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Larson
Erik Larson is a renowned non-fiction author who writes in a way that reads like a fictional story. Dead Wake follows the history of the Lusitania, WWI, and the passengers as the liner sets sail for the final time. Larson also takes on other historical events, such as the World’s Fair in Chicago (The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America) and the deadliest hurricane in US history (Isaac's Storm: A Man, a Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane in History). If you are looking to read about history, but avoiding boring tomes, Erik Larson’s work is for you!
