More Service Learning
Ms. Clardy and Mr. Webb are taking their Design students on a Service Learning trip this Friday to Tacos for Life where they will be packing meals for the Feed My Starving Childrencampaign. What Service Learning projects would you like to implement with your students?
IB in the Classroom
How are you using your key and related concepts this week? Are your students aware and using the terminology?
8th Grade Community Project
Mr. Driver, Ms. Horgan, Ms. Torain, and Ms. Udu have started the projects with the 8th graders. If you teach any 8th graders, it would be great if you could mention the projects in your class to help instill the importance of it. You could ask kids what they are going to do for their projects, who they are going to help, what need in the community they have identified and suggest creative service ideas from work you have seen in your own class. Here are the topics that have been chosen. If you have any ideas to send along to the teachers, please do!
- Homelessness/Poverty
- Domestic Violence
- Violence
- Discrimination
- Bullying
- Suicide
- Hunger
- Health Care
- Animals
- Immigration
- Care for the Elderly
Reminder of HOMEWORK
Use one of the strategies that you learned about on Tuesday in your classroom between now and November 20th.
Be prepared to share the strategy you used in your classroom as well as successes/ failures/ tips for using the strategy at Concord Middle at the next Staff Meeting on Nov. 20th!

Field Trips
Teachers are responsible for working with administrators to schedule all field trips, both optional and required. Please follow the following procedures:
Submit field trip forms with supporting documentation to your Grade Level Administrator within timeframes listed below. Your GLA will review and forward to the principal.
Typically a CCS contract is needed if you are using a travel agency, charter bus or going to a destination with increased liability exposure. If you are unsure please review with GLA or Principal.
Please note it is CCS policy that no staff member should be entering into or signing any contract that is not a CCS issued contract. Also note that CCS does not assume any financial responsibility for non-required field trips. CCS is not responsible for any cancellation fees. Trip participants, not CCS, pay for non-required trips and any subsequent fees.
