Senior Yearbook Important Information and Deadlines
Dear Parents/Guardians of a 2022 MVHS Graduate, Congratulations!
Before you know it, your child will be finished with school: a memory that will be well preserved in next year’s yearbook. This important letter is intended to clarify any questions you or your graduate may have about important yearbook deadlines. ALL OF THESE THINGS CAN BE DONE ON THE MVHS WEBSITE.
1. Senior Portraits: Photos can be in color or black and white; however, the book will be all color. The photo should be submitted as a jpg that is at least 300 dpi. There are several ways to submit:
* Email your photo to: seniorphotos.mvhs@gmail.com. Please include the first and last name in the subject line. You will receive a confirmation from me that I received it (it may take a few days—response will not be instantaneous). If you do not, the email did not reach me.
* CD or Flash Drive: You may drop these off at the front desk. Please make sure that you include first and last name and a phone number. Email seniorphotos.mvhs@gmail.com to let us know you’ve dropped them off.
* Upload Directly to the Website: Through the MVHS homepage, a link directly to Jostens will be provided as the new 2021-22 school year begins. THIS IS THE BEST, EASIEST, MOST RELIABLE METHOD TO SUBMIT.
Students may choose whatever pose/photo they like best, but we will not accept any photos with nudity, weapons, or inappropriate words/phrases/hand gestures. Also, senior pictures will be printed vertically. A horizontal picture will not fit the space, and we will have to crop it. The deadline for senior portraits is Monday, November 1st, 2021. If we do not have a senior picture by this date, the student ID photo will be used! (NOTE: If you do not provide a photo, your student must have a picture taken by Lifetouch Photography—our professional photographer—or we will not have an ID card photo and the student will not be pictured in the yearbook. Pictures taken by the school secretary or campus monitor are not sent to the yearbook staff). Please contact Matt Hall at matt.hall@tsd.org if you have any concerns about this deadline or questions about your picture.
You are responsible for turning in your photo. Please remind your photographer of our November 1 deadline. It is HIGHLY recommended that you schedule a photo session as soon as possible to avoid any delays. Many photographers have “early bird” offers or senior portrait specials, so be sure to ask. If you have financial issues and are unable to purchase a professional picture package, please contact me so that we can work something out and get your student in the yearbook. I am happy to help!
2. Parent Baby Ads: Please keep in mind the option of a PDA/baby ad for your senior—this is a way to honor your child with a lasting reminder. You will be receiving a flyer in early September that will provide you with all the information to place these ads, but these ads will be run through The Yearbook Company at www.theyearbookcompany.com. If you want to pencil in the dates, here is what is happening: October 16th is the Early Bird Deadline (discounted prices), and November 13th is the official deadline.
3. Yearbook Orders: You will be able to purchase your 2021-22 yearbook at www.jostensyearbooks.com and place your order online-- $70 until winter break, and $75 after Jan. 1, 2022. You can also find all these links on the MVHS website.
4. Senior Quotes: are due Nov. 1. The link is available on the MVHS homepage. Please make sure you read the very thorough disclaimer—the MV Yearbook staff reserves the right to get rid of any quote for any of the reasons listed on the disclaimer.
Thank you for your cooperation with our deadlines. Please do not hesitate to email if you have any questions. Thanks for your support of the MVHS yearbook. Sincerely, Matt Hall, Adviser

2021 Student State Assessment Results
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Last spring, TSD students participated in state testing. Student score reports are now available electronically through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for TSD students who participated in state testing. Please follow these directions to locate your student’s state testing results. Paper reports may be requested from your student’s school.
This past year, our families and teachers went to extraordinary lengths to support students and provide consistency and continuity of learning, despite the disruptions and reduced class time. Our students demonstrated incredible resilience as they adapted to changing learning models, shifting from in-person to remote to hybrid instruction and back again. As a result, some content covered during a typical year may have been adjusted or reduced. To better understand the impact of COVID-19 on student assessment results, please refer to the Colorado Department of Education’s frequently asked questions.
You can use information from the reports as a starting point for discussions with your child’s teacher about what additional supports may be available to help your child succeed as well as where to focus learning time at home. Educators have focused on students' individual state assessment results along with current student work and test results to better understand what is needed to meet individual student needs.
Additionally, state test scores are only one piece of information. These scores give a snapshot of academic performance and should not be interpreted as the ultimate indicator of a student’s academic success. We use assessment results, along with other supporting information, to plan professional development for educators, refine instructional strategies and foster student understanding.
If you have any questions, please call your school’s office.

Suicide Alertness Training
Educators, Staff, Parents or Students over 15 years of age (with required parent permission slip)
Almost all of us know or will know someone in our life who has been or will be at risk for suicide. How can you know if someone is suicidal? What should you say or not say? Where can you find help? You could help save the life of someone you know or love by attending safeTALK (Suicide Alertness Workshop).
This 3.5-hour workshop will offer skills that will keep you from missing, dismissing, and avoiding signs of suicide. You will also learn how to approach someone you are worried about as well as how to connect them with lifesaving resources.
**Pre-registration for the workshop is required due to limited space.**
Due to the nature of the workshop, it is imperative that participants be able to attend the training in its entirety.
