December Newsletter

Season's Greetings

Dear JBE Families:

It is hard to believe that we are almost through the second quarter of this school year. The last day of the quarter is December 21st; students will be dismissed at 1:30 on this day. Classes will resume on January 5th, 2023.

December is always an exciting and busy time for students and staff at JBE; please make sure to check your parent communication folders and apps for important information about upcoming events.

It looks like winter has arrived. Please make sure that your child is appropriately dressed for outdoor recess. We go outside each day unless the feels like is below 40 degrees or it's rainy/wet.

We hope that all of you have an extraordinary winter break and very happy holidays.

Pictures With Santa!

On Friday, 12/9, our PTO will be taking pictures with Santa. This is to raise money for our Parent Teacher Organization. Pictures will be $3 for one printed copy. The pictures will be sent home to following week. Notes will go out soon with all of the details.

Character Trait of the Month- Cooperation

This month JBE students will be talking about "cooperation". Cooperation means to work together in a positive way for a common purpose.

Attendance Matters

Support your child to be successful in school. Help your child understand that school is their very first job!

What You Can Do-

  • Make great school attendance a priority for your child.
  • Talk to your child about the importance of daily attendance in every class and how it helps his/her learning.
  • Students need to have a regular bedtime for a good night's sleep.
  • Turn off electronic devices one hour before bedtime.
  • When students miss so much school they will not be prepared for kindergarten, learning to read by third grade, failing courses in middle school and dropping out of high school.
