AP Exams at JHS
2020-21 1st Semester Exam Payment Deadline - October 30th.
WELCOME to your one resource for everything AP at JHS. In an effort to proactively communicate with students and parents, we have created this newsletter to help keep you informed and up to date on important deadlines, payment info, and testing dates.
Last year was an interesting year with College Board rolling out a new AP Platform. COVID also made last year an exceptional year with new challenges and processes. This year has the potential for many changes as well - which makes it even more important that students and families pay attention to the ever-changing information provided in this newsletter and from direct messages from College Board.
Information if you are taking an AP Exam
This year ALL AP students are defaulted to take an AP exam in the Spring of 2021. This means if you are a CURRENT JHS student taking an AP Course, you are already enrolled for your corresponding AP Exam.

Information if you have an AP Exam date conflict
If you are taking an AP Course that doesn't begin until 2nd semester - payments due 3/1/2021
Your 2nd semester teacher will inform you of all relevant deadlines at the beginning of your 2nd semester class. PAYMENTS are due ON OR BEFORE March 1st, 2021. College Board DOES NOT accept payments past this date.
Information if you need AP Exam Accommodations - Due January 8th, 2021 by 3:00pm
You may be able to test with accommodations.
If you have a documented disability, you may be able to receive an exam accommodation. There are a wide range of accommodations available, including extended time, large-type exams, a written copy of spoken test instructions, and permission to use a braille device, computer, or magnifying device.
If you get accommodations at your school, you’re likely eligible.
If you already receive accommodations from your school or have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504 Plan, you will also likely qualify.
We have to approve your accommodations in advance - deadline is Jan 8th, 2021 by 3:00pm.
Because the College Board process includes a thorough review of all information provided, it can take approximately seven weeks. Please APPLY EARLY! If you test using accommodations that haven’t been approved by us in advance, your scores will be canceled.
You will work with the counseling office to submit your request.
You will work with Ms. Lisa Boge to submit accommodations requests. Please click this link to submit an accommodation request. This form should be completed by a parent and EMAILED to Ms. Lisa Boge at lisa.boge@johnston.k12.ia.us
