Tarvin Times

Sept. 3, 2021

Trailblazers,

Reminder, no school on Monday, Sept. 6th, and Wednesday, September 8th is a normal scheduled day released at 2:55 PM.

Do to continued staffing shortages some middle schools and all elementary campuses will no longer have a la cart sales. (ice cream, chips, cookies, etc) until staffing improves. District-wide, our CNS staff has 90+ vacancies. We want to focus on serving our students and staff to the best of our ability and this will help to ensure that focus. All LISD elementary schools will begin this practice on 9/7. Menus will also be revised for September to cut down on items with longer prep times or requiring a longer assembly to which slows service down. We hope to be able to bring back these items and more once staffing is improved.

Together in Learning,

Christy Hilbun

Career Fair: November 19th, 8 AM to 9:30 AM

Parents/Community Members,

We are having our first annual Career Fair on November 19th from 8 am to 9:30 am. The students love to hear about all of the careers that they can choose from when they are older! Students are very engaged when they can see the tools/examples of work that is involved in various careers. The students would love to see what you do for a career! We need parents or community members in order to make this a meaningful and successful Career Fair. Due to COVID protocols, we will be having our Career Fair virtually this year. You can participate in one of two ways:

1. A 10 minute live zoom presentation on November 19th between 8 and 9:30 with a 5 minute Q&A following.

or

2. You can record a 5-minute presentation that will be shown at various times throughout our College and Career Readiness month (November). We will send you the platform to use to record.
