Science Experiment

To show an example of the water cycle to the students we did an experiment with a glass of water, shaving cream, and food coloring. We filled the glass with water which represented the water on earth and the air between the earth and the sky. The shaving cream on top represented the clouds and the food coloring represented rain. Once clouds become heavy, the tiny drops of water in the clouds return to the earth as precipitation. We placed food coloring on top of the shaving cream. The food coloring eventually leaked through the shaving cream. This was the example of water returning to earth.

Scholastic Book Order

I will be sending home Scholastic order forms in your child's Panther Report tomorrow. You may order by completing the order form and sending money to school or you may order online by using the following link.

We will be having a special chapel service on Wednesday September 11th. Students are allowed to wear khakis and a patriotic shirt in honor of this day. First grade will be leading the student with the patriotic songs that we learned during our American Symbols unit. Mrs. Howell will be reading a book about the days after 9/11. Please make plans to join us if you are able.
