Torry found another student's phone in my class that was pushed under some equipment. The phone had been lost for a few days and we were giving up hope. Because of Torry hope has been restored to all of humanity.

Angelina assists both me and another student (who does not speak English) by translating. She is extremely helpful in doing this.
World Cultures Debates Athenian Democracy
Students use critical thinking and civic engagement skills to determine if Athens was truly democratic.
AP Art History Students Construct Models of Stonehenge
Students had to accurately construct a scale model of Stonehedge so that the Sun could line up with the Rice Crispy stones.

WEEKLY GAME/SCORE REPORT
Girls Soccer
EHT lost to the future CAL champion, Ocean City, in the CAL Semifinal last Saturday. With the result, EHT Girls' Soccer finished 3rd out of the 20 teams in the Cape Atlantic League for the second time in two years. Additionally, EHT qualified for the illustrious South Jersey Soccer Coaches Tournament which highlights the top 16 teams from all of southern New Jersey. This is EHT's 5th time making the tournament in school history, and they will travel again to take on CAL rivals, Ocean City, in the first round this Saturday at 10am in the stadium on 6th street. Come out and support your Lady Eagles! Finally, Senior goal keeper, Grace Baumgartel was highlighted this week in the Press for setting the school record in single season shutouts last week. Girls Tennis
The girls tennis team battled the wind and the best players in the Cape Atlantic League this week. In the CAL tournament, first singles player, Samantha Phung, has advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament. In doubles, first doubles team of Tiffany Tran and Lauren Theophall has also made it to the quarterfinals. They will play their next round on Tuesday, Oct 22 in Vineland. EHT's third singles player, Jamie Theophall, had a tough draw, coming up against Lower Cape May's #1 player in the first round. Ema Cadacio won her first round match before falling to the top seed in the tournament. EHT's second doubles team, Cecilia Munoz and Emma Lynch, won their first round match, but lost in the second round to Vineland's #1 doubles team. The team also participated in the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk on the Ocean City Boardwalk on Oct. 13.
Boys and Girls Cross Country
The boys and girls cross country team competed at the Atlantic County Championships yesterday at Stockton University.
Olivia Shafer won the race for the second race in a row. Mikki Pomatto came in second place. Anya Gowda ran a great race placing 9th. The girls finished 2nd overall in the race as a team.
The boys placed 4th overall. Nico Valdivieso finished 4th overall and Aidan Winkler finished 9th.
Championship season continues next Thursday at Millville with the CAL tournament.
Varsity Field Hockey
The lady eagles had a tough fought loss to OC on Friday. The score was 3-2. Alexis Gray had a goal and an assist. Taylor Wright had a goal and Kylie Elwell had an assist. Rebecca Macchia had 8 saves.
The lady eagles travelled to AC on Thursday and beat the viking 5-0. Jette Trumbauer had 2 goals and 2 assists. Sarah Leconey had 2 goals and Julia Hammer added a goal. Cheyenne Avellino, Courtney Carmen, and Taylor Wright all added an assist. Rebecca Macchia had 5 saves.
The lady eagles are now 12-6 on the season and have earned a 6 seed in the group 4 south jersey playoffs. Our final regular season game is today at 345 vs Millville and our first round playoff game is home vs Vineland on Monday at 6pm.

Freshmen Football hosted Cherry Hill East High School. The baby eagles won 34-7. Leon Ellis, Michael Couvaras, Samil Miller, Nasir Turner, and Josh Bell all found the end zone by touchdown or two point conversion.
