Giving Thanks
Gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder. That is a perfect reflection of what we have experienced during our time at Beveridge Elementary. Every day, we are moved and inspired by what we see. Every day, we marvel at the incredible devotion of our staff and their unique ability to teach and inspire our children. Every day, we celebrate the amazing support of our parents and community.
We believe that the success of our school is built on a foundation of mutual respect and inclusiveness. Every day, dedicated teachers and staff nurture a culture of fairness, love and caring, all focused on the goal of providing a safe learning environment for our students and families. Beveridge Elementary is committed to continuing this focus and supporting our families during the school day and beyond.
We are thankful that Beveridge Elementary continues to strive for excellence in each and every classroom, to grow stronger by our diversity, and to cultivate an open and positive school climate.
During this time of Thanksgiving, we want to share our gratitude and thank you for being such an important part of our children’s lives. This is a wonderful time of the year to get together with friends and family to celebrate and be thankful for all the wonderful people in our lives. On behalf of the Beveridge Elementary staff, we would like to thank you for your continued support and wish you all a safe and happy holiday. We will see everyone back here on November 29th.
Respectfully,
Beveridge Elementary Administrative Team

Stay Informed
Parents please be aware of a not so commonly known illness recently seen in Lake County, Hand Foot and Mouth disease or HFM, is a viral illness that is prevalent in the fall and spring months. HFM spreads by airborne respiratory droplets (coughs or sneezes), saliva (kissing or shared drinks) and by skin-to-skin contact (handshakes or hugs). Often initial signs and symptoms are similar to those of cold and flu before blisters develop. HFM may cause all of the following signs and symptoms or just some of them: fever, sore throat, feeling unwell, painful red blister-like lesions on the tongue, gums and inside of the cheeks, red rash sometimes with blistering on the palms, soles of feet and sometimes the buttocks. Infants and toddlers may experience irritability and loss of appetite. To prevent the spread of HFM and other illness keep students home from school and childcare while they have a fever or open blisters on the skin and in the mouth and seek medical treatment as soon as possible. Hand washing and regularly disinfecting surfaces is the best protection. Remind everyone in your family to wash their hands well and often.
Do not forget the Mobile Dentist will be here November 29, 2021. Your child was previously given a permission slip to be completed, signed and returned to school. If you need a permission slip please call the school at (219) 321-8546 to request one be sent home with your child. Permission slips will continue to be accepted until November 8, 2021.
Remember, taking care of your child’s teeth is important to keep them healthy. A state licensed dentist will check your child’s mouth and teeth, as well as provide cleaning, x-rays as necessary, fluoride treatment and apply sealants as needed. Additional care such as fillings may also be provided. A dental report card will be sent home with your child the day of the visit.
