The News
Rumor has it that Teri Pankau is planning a return to the show ring on her home raised mare, Elegance in Krymsun. Ivy has been making the trip to a few shows to get used to the atmosphere and made her debut with Jennifer Drinkall at Gordyville a few weeks ago in the Green HUS. Word is that she was a very good girl. Be on the lookout for Teri in her hunt clothes soon!
Trista Mallow has pulled her 16 year old mare, Funny Face, out of retirement. Trista sold her young gelding, Suddenly Winter, in the fall. It has been 10 years and a few foals since Funny Face and Trista were a team but you would never know it. They won the Circuit Award in Am Horsemanship at Gordyville in March, not bad!
One of our newest members, Danielle Beauchamp, purchased her mare Surely Sheza Hottie, or Miley, at the Congress last October. Danielle is looking forward to her return to the show ring after over 20 years. While Danielle and Miley get to know each other Jennifer Burton has been showing Miley in the Green Western Pleasure. They have won the Circuit Award at every show they have entered and are currently leading the nation in the Green Western Pleasure.
Speaking of the AQHA Show Leaders List we have some other members off to an early lead. Chayna DeNicolo and her mare are currently 4th in the Novice Showmanship and 15th in the Amateur. This team has been racking up the All Around Awards this season. Chayna also confirmed that Gracie is expecting a 2017 foal by Lazy Loper. Congratulations!
Julie Ehler’s has a new horse as of last summer. She is currently showing VS Struck Gold in Select and Novice Western Pleasure. Jennifer Burton has been showing him in the Junior Western Pleasure and is 7th on the Show Leaders List. Julie and Cody are headed to the Novice Championships in Oklahoma next week.
Mary Caitlyn O’Malley and her new horse Orange is the New Bay are off to a great start. They are 7th on the Show Leaders List in Level 3 Youth HUS. They started together late last year but are already qualified for The AQYHA World Show in HUS. Mary Caitlyn also won the Tyler Auth Memorial Sportsman Award at the Gordyville Illinois Youth Show.
Emma Garcia and Lucky in the Moonlight are also making an appearance on the Show Leaders list, they are currently 6th in the Level 1 Youth HUS. They also picked up an All Around Award in Youth 14-18 at Gordyville this spring.
