Tech Talk
Lewiston-Porter Teacher Edition Issue #6
Questions Anyone?
I know that many people are operating out of their comfort zone given this unique situation. We're all trying to adjust and learn new tricks and tools. Perhaps you've read dozens of resources, and joined webinars to find your way. Perhaps you've been overwhelmed and have found it difficult to sift through all those resources.
Either way, it is sometimes easier and more comfortable to ask someone you know to get the help you need. With that being said, I'm going to schedule "Tech Talks" that anyone is welcome to join. There will be two separate meeting times, one for primary teachers and another for secondary teachers. The meeting will be informal and will be driven entirely by the needs of the participants. Topics may include but are not limited to: Zoom, Google Meet, SeeSaw, or Google Classroom.
Secondary Meeting Details:
- Monday 4/24
- 1:00-2:00 PM

To activate Screencastify Unlimited access, follow these instructions:
- Visit this page and click "Redeem coupon" (under the Next Billing Date)
- Enter code CAST_COVID
- Click "Activate License" (no credit card required). Ignore the Next Billing Date - that will be incorrect
Screencasify will extend access as needed.
Family Survey Results
I would like to share the results of the survey with you. I think the results indicate that you are doing an amazing job! Keep up the good work!
Does your Chromebook frequently disconnect from your WiFi?
This procedure also works on student devices. I plan to email these directions to students via email and I will also include in my parent communication.
IT Support
Note: If a device needs to be exchanged due to breakage or malfunction, students need to make sure they first contact the technology liaisons. We will make sure the exchange is ready. Pickups will occur at District Office on Thursdays between 8:30-10:30 and 12:00-2:00
