Pygmy-Possum

Description
The Pygmy-Possum grows up to 10 cm long and half of that is its tail. It has brown fur and pink a nose.
Distribution
The Pygmy-Possums lives on the highest mountains in Victoria and in the Koscioszko National Park region in N.S.W
Habitat and Ecology
It lives on the ground in rocky areas. The Pygmy-Possum eats caterpillars, beetles, spiders and millipedes. There litters of four babies are born in spring.
Threats
The Pygmy-Possums' threats are loss of habitat, predation from the red fox and feral cats, they can be mistaken for vermen and global warming is also ruining there habitat.
Recovery Strategies
We have to control foxes and feral cats in Pygmy Possums' habitat also do not use rat poison or rat traps in Pygmy Possum habitat. We need to protect all areas of their habitat from fire.
