A Message from Marcie
Happy Friday, South Park!
It's hard to believe that we are already starting to think about our plans for next year! By now, I hope you saw this letter sent out on Tuesday regarding the Goals and Concerns Form that families may use to provide input in our class-building process. If you have input to share that your child's teacher may not be aware of, we respectfully ask that you complete the form by next Friday, April 8th to communicate with Mrs. Gruenwald and me. Phone calls or meeting requests regarding class placements will not be honored.
A reminder that IAR (state testing) begins next week for students in grades 3-5. Please send your child to school with a fully charged Chromebook.
Have a great weekend!
-Marcie

As a parent, one of my main goals is to instill certain values in my children-- respect, kindness, and independence at the top of my list. But this is NO easy task! The arguments, the power struggles, the complaining... yes, they all exist in my world, even when I attempt to use the reliable and proven counseling skills I have been taught through years of grad school. Although not always an easy compromise for a parent, cooperation is the key to building a relationship with your children and fostering their sense of independence and empowerment. This short article, Cooperation, Not Obedience as a Goal of Parenting, is an excellent reminder of the expectations we set upon our kids and how to cultivate cooperation as an effective way to parent. Happy Parenting!

Caruso Parent Info Night - April 7th
Hello Future Blue Jay Families!
As we head into the final months of this school year we wish you the best and look forward to welcoming our incoming 6th grade class. Behind the scenes, we are hard at work helping prepare for a smooth transition from 5th grade to middle school, and we wanted to invite you to an opportunity to learn more about Caruso! We will be holding an optional incoming Blue Jay night for parents only on Thursday, April 7th from 6-7pm in the Caruso Cafeteria. If you are unable to attend, the presentation will be sent out.
Thank you in advance for your patience as we plan. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions following our informational night once all resources have been shared.
Thanks!
