Dear Rocklin Unified Staff and Families,

The Rocklin Unified School District (RUSD) is excited to announce the inaugural Parent University featuring a series of workshops will be offered for parents, guardians and caretakers to continue our educational partnership in service of our students. The Parent University will take place on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Whitney High School.

The following topics were selected based on the interest level on the recent LCAP Parent Survey:

  • Supporting Your Student in Mathematics (presented by RUSD Math Instructional Coaches)

  • Early College Planning for Grades 8-10 (presented by RUSD Counselors and College and Career Services)

  • How to Help Your Child When They Struggle (presented by RUSD Instructional Coaches)

  • Organization and Study Habits (presented by RUSD Coordinator of Expanded Learning Opportunities)

  • Safety on Social Media (presented by the FBI’s Roseville Field Office)

  • Supporting Mental Health (presented by Wellness Together)

  • Love and Logic Parenting (presented by a trainer from Love and Logic)

Sierra IB News

Each week we will share another of Sierra's IB policies that serve as the foundation of our International Baccalaureate program at Sierra. This week we are featuring the Sierra Language Policy. The teaching and learning of language at Sierra Elementary stem from the belief that language is fundamental to lifelong learning. U.S. Navy Concert Band

The U.S. Navy Concert Band holding a concert in the Whitney High School Performing Arts Center at 3p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023. The Band is the premier musical organization of the U.S. Navy, performing frequently at ceremonies held at The White House and The Pentagon and also tours annually throughout the nation. While the concert is free, tickets are required for entry. General admission tickets may be requested at the Rocklin Unified School District front desk during business hours. The public is encouraged to call ahead prior to picking up their tickets. [FLYER]

Are you cleared to volunteer or chaperone a field trip?

To ensure compliance with RUSD and the state of California's volunteer policies, parents who wish to volunteer on campus during the school day must have:



RUSD Policy:


  • Fingerprinting completed for RUSD specifically. Prior fingerprinting done for any agency or organization other than RUSD will not be accepted. Fingerprinting takes approximately 72 hours to clear.
  • Current Tuberculosis Test (TB). TB tests expire every 4 years and must be renewed in order to volunteer. TB Tests take approximately 48-72 hours for results and results must be brought to the office.
