Chancellor News and Notes
March 5-9, 2018
Vote, vote, vote!
Please make an informed decision and get out and vote in the primary if you are able. Most polling stations are open early and late, so you should be able to get in! Below are the links sent out by Mr. Chambers in the emailed letter today, so you can locate your polling station and times for your area of residence.
This is the year for educators to make their voices heard! Be a part of helping elect policy makers who want to make a positive difference!
Don't forget to tag Alief on Twitter with a selfie of your voting sticker and you, and tag #AliefVotes to help us get a month of jeans passes! Just for voting, you get one jeans pass (from Marie), and if Alief gets to 1,000 social media posts of voting, all staff members get a MONTH of jeans! If you don't use Twitter, someone else can also post for you, and anyone can tag #AliefVotes and it will count towards our number!
Spring Break Already?!
Special Surprise this Week!
Friday, March 23- National Chip and Dip Day!
When we come back from Spring Break, we are going to celebrate Chips and Dip Day (it's a national holiday!) on Friday, March 23! If you want to participate, please sign up outside Marie's door to bring a dip and chips (and so we can see what kind of yummy dips are being brought)! This event will take place in the teachers lounge, and will be open to any staff member who brings a contribution! :)
Report Cards are due Friday!
This Friday is the end of the grading period! Work on students getting assignments in this week so you can get grades in, if you are a classroom teacher. Grades are due by Friday, but you have Spring Break as well, if you need extra time to get them in. Building will be available as well, if you need to come up to do them here! An email will go out later this week with the times building will be open.
For the good of the school- what are you reading?
Send me an email or tag Chancellor and me on Twitter with @ChancellorComet and @tessrenae02 with a great book you would like to share with staff! Let's get some books shared that are fantastic reads! Spring Break is here, and that's a great time to start something new!
I am sharing the book Kids Deserve it! because it was a really great read, with fantastic examples for educators to implement with students right away. The writers are also both dedicated educators who are good to follow on Twitter, so look them up! :)
