Walnut Kicks off the First Week of School!

On Monday, Walnut High School kicked off its 51st school year! Students were welcomed by cheerleaders, ASB students, and our wonderful staff! We are excited for the 2019-2020 school year and our hope is that your child makes the most out of their high school experience.

Come support our Walnut Football team in their season opener against Diamond Bar High School in the annual Branding Iron Game. Kickoff is at 7:00 pm and you don't want to miss an amazing performance from the Blue Thunder at halftime.

Walnut Sophomore, Justina Kozan, is headed to the Junior Swimming World Championships in Budapest to compete in the 200m individual medley. She will be representing our country and of course, representing Walnut High School! Good luck Justina! You make us proud!!

We need three parent volunteers to represent our 9th grade students!

Parent Think Tank meets monthly to gain input on how we can continue to meet the needs of our students. Meetings start at 6:30 pm, once a month, on campus. If you are a parent of a freshman, and interested in being part of a great team, please contact Monique Estrada at mestrada@wvusd.k12.ca.us. These spots fill fast, so please contact her ASAP!

JOIN A STUDENT GROUP - LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

Mr. Maine wants to hear from you! Student Think Tank is looking for freshman students who are positive and who focus on solutions and have any great ideas. Your suggestion could be our next big initiative or event, but it starts by telling us what you want. You can also use this platform to let us know any concerns we should be focusing on.

Student Think Tank members need to be committed to the group and attend each scheduled meeting once a month.

If interested please visit Ms. Estrada, Mr. Maine's secretary in the front office.

Back to School Night - August 29

On behalf of Walnut High School, we are happy to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year! We would like to invite you to Back-to-School Night, Thursday, August 29, 2019. Our evening will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the gymnasium. There will be performances by various student groups. If your student has a 0 period, your evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the respective teacher's classroom. This is a great opportunity for you to follow a daily schedule of your son/daughter and to personally meet each teacher.

By now, every student should have received their locker assignment and combination. The video below is a brief tutorial on how to open their locker. If they are still having locker troubles, have them visit Mrs. Voss in the textbook room.

School Lunch Policy

Due to safety concerns, we DO NOT accept student lunches in the office. We understand the importance of student nutrition, but we encourage students to either purchase lunch at school or bring their lunch from home. Food, drinks, or other items are NOT to be passed to students through the fence. This is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.


Please Note: Parents can now access the Food Services Department from our website under the Parents tab. On that page, parents can set up and deposit funds into their student's lunch account for purchasing lunch on campus.
