What Cause Tsunamis?
Tsunamis are usually caused by earthquakes, less often by submarine landslides, sometimes by submarine volcanic eruptions and almost never by a large meteorite impact in the ocean.
What Causes Earthquakes?
Earthquakes occur when two plates come together at a plate boundary, press together and build up energy, and then release the energy when one plate slips over or under the other.
