Dealey Dragon Update

October 2017

Message from the Principal

Hello Dealey Parents!

We had a great first six weeks here at Dealey! I can't believe October is already here. This month is always full of events so make sure you check out the details below and mark your calendar.

The Dealey carnival is one of our most popular fall activities, so we hope you can make it out on Saturday, October 21st to have some family fun. I'm so disappointed that I will have to miss this year. Many of you know that I have a college freshman at UT this year, so I will be traveling to Austin for parents weekend.

Parent conferences are just around the corner as well, so please look out for information or sign-up sheets from your child's teacher about conference details. The first six week's report cards will be issued during fall conferences. If you have a middle school child, you will receive an e-mail with a link to sign-up for conferences.

Thanks so much for all of the support you have provided this year by volunteering or supporting our PTA. We really appreciate everything you do for our school!

In closing, I would like to mention that I know there are a lot of concerns about chiggers and ants around the playground and garden areas. We continue to contact the grounds department to spray and treat these areas. Although they are very responsive, we haven't been able to rid the grounds of these pests completely. We will continue to request these services, and appreciate your patience with this matter.

Thanks again for all you do. It's such a privilege to serve you and your children.

Very sincerely,

Beverly Lusk

Principal
