Helpful Resources
Here are a few helpful guidelines and resources for our scholars and learning coaches to use throughout the school year:
1. If you have questions over Winter break, write them down and make sure you get in touch with your Educational Facilitators on 1/7/18 (first day back to school) since they will be off for the holidays.
2. Use Google to research interesting topics.
3. Khan Academy is a free website that offers instructional practice and tutorials that can help scholars tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more.
4. SmartTutor offers free resources for scholars in elementary school including reading and math lessons, and educational games like Let’s go fishing for site words!
5. Math ABC is a free interactive online math program for elementary and middle school scholars.
6. Grades K-8 can use iStation to work through math or ELA lessons. Each scholar has their individual learning path already populated!
7. LearnZillion has video tutorials for Math and ELA skills and concepts.
8. Virtual Nerd focuses on math lessons, separated by grade level and skills.
9. TeacherTube has thousands of videos on all different topics and subject areas. Simply type in a keyword and search for videos that can help explain a difficult topic or idea.
10. TED Talks are influential videos from expert speakers on education, business, science, tech, and creativity, with subtitles in 100+ languages.
