Abrams Elementary School
TOGETHER --We Learn... We Achieve... We Grow
I can't believe we are coming to the end of the 1st month of school. So many things have changed but we are doing great adjusting to these changes. The kids and the staff are working so well together to help be safe for one another.
Wednesday continues to be our virtual learning day. More information will be coming out as we begin to expand our learning times. Accessing the learning live is the best option to help keep your child engaged and learning. Attendance is taken on these days just like other days. Reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions.
I am also working on a document to share with parents on what to know if you child is showing symptoms. The district and county have created documents to help you know when to keep your child at home and for how long. My document will help you know how to communicate with school and help keep learning going for your child if they need to be out for an extended time frame. This is a new situation for all of us. We are here to help and support you through these unprecedented times. Reach out at any time for help.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns you have about your child or school.
Notes from the Office
Attendance: If your child will be absent from school please call the school office (even if you let the teacher know) at (920) 826-5819 ext. 1. If you leave a message, give the specific symptoms why your child will be out. Thanks!
After Picture Day: Your child is bringing home a proof envelope with 2 images to choose from for you to order, payment must be included with your order. Please make checks out to MK Photography. There is no obligation to purchase. To further mitigate any risk, there will not be a retake day this year.
Please contact MK Photography if you have any questions at (920) 846-8409 or email
Online Registration: The window is closed for online registration, therefore if your family information changes (phone number, mailing address, etc. ) please notify the school office. It's important to have up-to-date information in Skyward in the event that the school would need to contact you. Thanks!

The deadline for submitting articles for the newsletter is Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. The office staff needs time to add, proof and make sure things are ready to go at press time. Any articles submitted after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays will not be added until the next newsletter two weeks later. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
We are excited to announce that the USDA announced a nationwide waiver for schools to offer free meals to all students.
Effective September 14, 2020 all students age 18 and under in the Oconto Falls School District can receive Free Breakfast and Free Lunch up until December 31, 2020 OR until the available funds run out. Which means this program could end at any time prior to December 31, 2020. These meals will only be available on scheduled school days according to our 2020-2021 School year calendar. If there is money in your food service account currently, it will remain in there to be used once this opportunity ends.
This is a great opportunity for all kids to receive breakfast and lunch each day at Abrams Elementary, Oconto Falls Elementary, Washington Middle School and Oconto Falls High School. We will still be sending meals home with students that order them Tuesday for the Wednesday Virtual Learning Day and these also will be free of charge.
It is very important that you still complete the Free and Reduced Application, if you have not done so, because when this free meal opportunity ends, you will be responsible for payment based on your current status of free/reduced/paid. Our District may qualify for special funding or programming based on our Free and Reduced percentage.
Please note this opportunity does not include ala carte purchases, snack milk at the elementary levels, and/or milks purchased with meals brought from home. These items WILL be charged to your account.
PLEASE BE PATIENT AND FLEXIBLE as we will be ordering supplies, based on the data from our meals last spring.
As always, if you have any questions, we will be happy to help.
